Somogyi Gréta-Zakar Péter-Szabó Gyula

Gréta Somogyi is an editor and research fellow at the Institute and Museum of Military History in Budapest. Her research focuses on 19th-century Transylvanian memoir literature and correspondence, with particular attention to individuals who played an active role in the events of the 1848–49 Revolution and War of Independence, and whose lives and public activities extended until the 1867 Compromise. In her work, she pays special attention to researching unexplored memoirs and correspondences. These personal documents not only tell about the era from an individual perspective but can also bring to light previously lesser-known events, human stories, and relationship systems, shedding new light on well-known historical figures. Through correspondence, not only family ties but also the friendly and social networks of an era emerge. The documents of the volume titled Dear Little Papa! – The Correspondence of Count Imre Mikó and his Children, presented at MindFormers, were edited by Gréta Somogyi.
